BRUBECK MUSIC
The Brubeck Brothers Quartet
Dan Brubeck:

Drummer and percussionist DAN BRUBECK has toured the international music circuit for over two decades as the leader of his own group, The Dolphins, and as a featured soloist with many of the world's top jazz artists. His original drumming style, distinctive solos, and use of odd time signatures have earned him the respect of many critics worldwide. Dan has released three CDs with The Dolphins, which received extensive airplay in the U.S. and Japan. He was the subject of The Jazz Show, alto saxophonist David Sanborn's syndicated radio program. Dan was also co-leader of The Brubeck LaVerne Trio with brother Chris and pianist Andy LaVerne. Their Blackhawk record, SEE HOW IT FEELS, made the top 25 list in national jazz airplay. Dan produced, played and earned great reviews for his work on Trio Brubeck. He has been featured on 10 Dave Brubeck albums, and recorded with Larry Coryell, Livingston Taylor, Michael Franks, and Roy Buchanan. He has toured with The Band, Gerry Mulligan, Jon Hendricks, Paul Butterfield, and Warren Bernhardt. Dan has also soloed with many of the world's leading orchestras as a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Dan and Chris have made many TV appearances including BBC specials, multiple appearances on The Today Show, Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show, and the nationally syndicated PBS Jazz in America series.

REVIEWS:
Dan turned in one of the most masterful -- and inspiring -- performances I had every witnessed." Modern Drummer

Dan will cause your mouth to drop when you hear him take off on Jazzanians. To call his drum solo exciting is to sell him short, but it's awesome soloing like this that characterizes the entire recording." [Trio Brubeck CD, Telarc] Jazz Times

"Dan is phenomenal with polyrhythms, percussion and drum soloing. His deceptive approach sounds like more than one player, but Dan is creating the whole percussion." Dr. Herb Wong

"Dan steals the show. He's a crisp, active drummer who makes the most of his feature, Jazzanians [Trio Brubeck CD, Telarc], playing rhythms with accuracy as well as joy. His solo is masterful -- both well-planned and surprising, accurate and exuberant." Stereophile

Dave Brubeck: IN
THEIR OWN SWEET WAY
(Telarc 83355)

For his seventh Telarc album, pianist Dave Brubeck again reinvents himself with fresh verve. A special session featuring the legendary musician with his four sons, the ten-tune album originated in January 1994 while the Brubeck family had gathered in Connecticut for the holidays. Dave and sons Darius (piano), Chris (bass and bass trombone), Dan (drums), and Matthew (cello) united to record six
beautifully interpreted, original tunes in New York and the remaining four in San Francisco in September 1995.

 Old World, New World
The Dolphins: OLD WORLD, NEW WORLD (DMP CD-487)

Drummer Dan Brubeck rhythmically propels this hot new progressive jazz quartet (Mike DeMicco, guitar; Rob Leon, bass; Vinnie Martucci, keyboards) that CD Review called "one of the outstanding young jazz successes of the year". The Dolphins combine "old world" improvisational jazz styles with "new world" funk elements.
