Chris, Joel and Madcat have been working on this CD over the last year all over the country, including New York, Memphis and Florida.Watching the World includes several new original tunes, such as "Lady Luck Gone South" featuring Madcat on lead vocals; Joel's beautiful "Billy's Song" with a beautiful cello line played by Joel's son, Andrew Brown; and Chris's "The Mighty Mrs. Hippy" a funny boogie-woogie tune in 5/4 time about the life of a riverboat gambler. BACH TO BRUBECK , on Koch International Classics, features Chris on trombone, bass, piano & vocals, the late Bill Crofut on banjo and vocals, Joel Brown on guitar & vocals and the London Symphony Orchestra, with Joel Revson, conducting. Bach to Brubeck opens with Variations on Themes by Bach continues with Praeludium for Lute by Bach, then moves on to more modern tunes such as the beautiful Koto Song by Dave Brubeck and features Chris' Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra which has since been performed by the Boston Symphony, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, and the Pittsburgh Symphony among others. This CD will bring you many hours of pleasure.

Chris, Joel & Madcat recorded Triple Play LIVE at two concerts in February at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. It includes several original tunes, Now That the Children Are Gone, The Road to Thomasville, Rock Stream Sunday, New Stew (Opus Two) and This Is Where the Truth Lies, as well as classics such as Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out, Crossroads, How Long, and Take Five. American Music Guide gave the CD 4-1/2 stars, saying of it: This boundary-stretching CD should be investigated by anyone who enjoys great American Music".

Dance on a Moonbeam is a fabulous collection of songs and poems. It was Bill Crofut's last project and includes such amazing artists as Benjamin Luxon, Dawn Upshaw, Frederica von Stade, Chris Brubeck, Julianne Baird, Meryl Streep, Joel Brown, Joel Brown, and The London Symphony Orchestra among others. This recording relies on the techniques and emotional resources of Indian music, but the sounds and rhythms also stem from Jazz, Rock, Gospel, Brzilian and African music, reflecting the "world music" culture which has evolved over the last 25 years.

Darius Brubeck and the Nu Jazz Connection. The Nu Jazz Connection recorded this CD after being invited to represent the University of Natal, South Africa, at the Annual Conference of the International Assoc. of Jazz Educators in 1992. The South African repertoire reflects the connection between jazz and traditional music. African Tributes is respectfully dedicated to all the musicians who kept jazz alive in South Africa through the bitterest decades of apartheid.
